Ministry of National Defense Released a Press Release Explaining the Matter of “Republic of China Armed Forces Admirals Position Adjustment Approved by the President”. (June 27th, 2019)

Approved by the president, the position adjustment of Armed Forces admirals is as follows:

1. The vacant Chief of the General Staff for the General Staff Headquarters will be filled by Vice Minister of Policy, Admiral Shen Yi-ming. Admiral Chang Zhe-ping will be transferred to serve as the Vice Minister of Policy. Commander-in-Chief of Air Force Command Headquarters will be filled by its deputy commander, Lieutenant General Hsiung Hou-chi, who is also being promoted to General, second-class admiral of Air Force.

2. Lieutenant General Hsiung Hou-chi, deputy commander of the Air Force Command Headquarters, graduated from the 1983 class of the R.O.C. Air Force Academy and the 2004 class of the War Academy, and comes with an impressive academic and experience resume, including having served important military positions like the captain of Air Force 443 Wing, director of the Executive Office of the Minister General Affairs, and commander of Air Force Combatant Command. Hsiung contributed greatly during his current position by having conducted significant works including instructing the Air Force on various combat readiness training missions and combat capability construction and planning; due to his substantial experience, Hsiung was promoted to be the commander of the Air Force Command Headquarters in order for him to continue to promote various combat readiness missions of army establishment.

3. The aforementioned transfer will go in effect from July 1st, 2019.
